Bridal makeup for divas

Wedding day is one of the best days in a woman's life because it will

change her life forever. Ladies love to look gorgeous on their D-day

and make style statements with their makeup and wedding dress. For

most ladies, getting a professional makeup artist is ideal to give

them the desired look while others do it on their own.

Olabisi Obasusi, CEO of Labeez Makeovers, Lagos, said that achieving a

good makeup starts with a flawless skin. " For a bride to look

beautiful on her day, the skin has to be as clean as possible to give

a lady that radiating appearance when the makeup is applied."

Here are Olabisi's tips on bridal makeup application:

Step1- Cleanse the skin and apply a face primer all over the face,

also prep the lips using a lip primer or a lip balm.

Step 2- Fill the brows using a brow filler or a brow pencil, and on

the eyes prime using an eye shadow primer. This sets the eyes and

prevents it from creasing.

Step 3- Apply your desired eye shadow colour on the eye-lid for your

transition colour, a matte plum shadow, a medium colour or a darker

colour can be used and blend carefully into the middle of the eyes.

Step 4- Use a black eyeliner to define the eyes, and a false lash with

mascara is needed to add length and volume to the lashes.

Step 5- You need a concealer under the eyes using a damp beauty

blender sponge and set with a loose powder or pressed powder with a

large powder brush, set the face with a powder.

Step 6- To contour and highlight you need different shades of powder

(a darker and a lighter shade). The blush is also needed on the

cheekbones to highlight the cheeks, then line the lips using a

brighter colour to bring life to the face and makeup using your

lipstick brush. Your makeup application altogether has to be subtle

and not loud. With this your bride is set for the big day.
