Tips on how to be the best failure of the century

TIPS ON HOW TO REMAIN POOR

1. NEVER WAKE UP EARLY. Keep stretching and turning in bed until you

get too hungry to continue dozing. If there are no bed bugs, why hurry

to get up?

2. NEVER PLAN HOW TO SPEND YOUR MONEY. Whenever you get money, start

spending it right away and when it's finished, you try to count and

recall how you spent it.

3. DONT THINK OF SAVING TILL YOU HAVE REAL BIG MONEY. How can you save

when you earn so little? Those telling you to save are not sympathetic

to your burning needs.

4. DONT ENGAGE IN ACTIVITIES USUALLY RESERVED FOR THE UNEDUCATED. How

can you, a graduate, engage in petty trade, network marketing or

home-based production? That's for people who never went to school!

5. DONT THINK OF STARTING A BUSINESS UNTIL AN ANGEL COMES FROM HEAVEN

AND GIVES YOU CAPITAL. How do they expect you to invest before you get

millions? Even though more than half the businesses in your town were

started with little capital, you as a smart person can only start with

millions.

6. COMPLAIN ABOUT EVERYTHING EXCEPT YOUR OWN ATTITUDE AND LAZINESS.

Blame the system, the government and the banks that refused to lend

you money. They are all bad and do not want you to get rich.

7. SPEND MORE THAN YOU EARN. To achieve this, buy consumer products on

credit and keep borrowing from friends and employers.

8. COMPETE IN DRESSING. Make sure you're wearing the latest clothes.

Intimidate the congregation with your trendy fashions every Sunday.

Whenever your neighbour buys a new phone, you get one that is more

expensive.

9. GET YOURSELF A NICE SECOND-HAND CAR that costs more than three

times your yearly salary.

10. GIVE YOUR CHILDREN EVERYTHING THEY ASK FOR SINCE YOU ARE SUCH A

LOVING PARENT. They should not struggle for anything because you do

not want them to suffer that way, they will grow up lazy and hence

poor enough to ensure they can't help you at old age

Hmmmm..........Think on these things and take a positive steps out

of POVERTY today.

Good day to you all

10 Essay Writing Steps (professional writers)

You do not have to be a genius to write a good essay. Just follow the steps

below and get the job done.

What is essay?

Writing a paper is an occasion to speak out your mind. An essay is a short piece

of text, which states your opinion and provides valid arguments to

support it. It is

significant to know how to write an essay. Fitting style and structure

would allow

you to reach your goal: get your idea across and prove your point of view.

So, basically an essay is a short write up that covers the subject and other

opinions on it, but it focuses and highlights YOUR idea and point of

view. A good

and brief essay may consist of 5 major parts. You can further break them down in

smaller sections. The big 5 are:

Intro

State the problem or idea you are going to cover and explain why it is so vital.

Arguments for the idea

State the arguments of other people, who upkeep this idea.

Arguments against the idea

State the arguments of rivals.

Your point of view

It's the crunch, where you lay out your belief and back it up with the prove.

Conclusion

Write a quick summary of the crunch.

Types of essays

There are several potential approaches to creating a paper and

structuring it out.

If you want to know how to write essay, pick your style first:

Narrative; How to write

Argumentative;

Comparison;

Process;

Causes and Effects;

Definition.

10 steps on how to write a good essay

1. Pick the topic

Idea and motive: An essay has to be focused on some idea or problem. You

clearly state this idea in the first section – in the into part of the essay.

Explain why this idea is vital and why it should be discussed. You can also

briefly state how you stumbled on it or where you got this idea from.

How do you pick an essay topic? It can originate from your interests or

passions. Or you may get it from your school tutor. Just remember that essay

has to be short. Do not even try to cover a huge topic in one small essay. Get

to the core; single out just one key aspect and cover it in your essay.

Write an appealing title for your paper. Titles are important. The

title should be

appropriate to the contents of essay and it should be interesting and

appealing. It should make your readers want to go on reading. It's like an

appetizer. Use your topic keywords in the tittle. You can make it quite

provocative to evoke interest in people. For instance: do you agree that

invention of toilet is the one that changed our world the most? See how it

works?

2. Choose the type of essay

Now, the type of essay determines its flow. For example, you write an essay

on a Zoo. Does this form of animal environment has right to exists? You may

well choose the comparative style for this essay and match a zoo against

natural wild life or against a safari park. If you do not believe that zoos are

such a good idea, this type of essay would help you to highlight its

shortcomings by comparing them with other alternatives.

Now, how to write a narrative essay? You pick a topic. Let's say you wish to

explain why zoos are good. You sort of roll out a story through your essay.

You start with a quick flash of background. You go back to those times, when

first zoos were established.

Then you may lead a distant dialogue with those, who hate zoos and think

them unacceptable. You produce your arguments, such as zoos allow

preserving rare animals, etc. And you apex the essay leading people up to a

certain conclusion.

3. Get your facts in place

Now, a good essay cannot be written out of the blue. You need to carry out a

study. You should put together a record of books or other sources of

evidence. Study them, get your facts in place. Analyze the information. Try to

stay as unbiased as you can. Sometimes the studies can lead you in an

unexpected direction.

You see, facts are tricky. You can easily manipulate them, if you get too

consumed with your theory. This has happened many a time even with the

greatest scientists. Here is a good example to clarify the idea: for many

centuries scientists actively opposed the idea of diseases being caused by

bacteria.

They believed all sickness was cause by some mysterious miasma

(evaporation). And only in the 17th century after the microscope invention

they could see their mistake. So, when you do the study, keep your mind open

to new ideas even if they challenge the old ones.

4. Write down your sources

Keep track of all your information sources. How to write a good essay? By

supporting your conclusions and arguments with similar ideas of other credible

people. Ecclesiast says there is nothing new under the sun. Even a novice

idea could be grounded on and supported by someone else's discoveries or

books.

Present your references properly in the essay and pay credit people, who

inspired you or who opposed your opinion. As it was mentioned above, these

first four steps pertain to the first 3 units of the essay.

5. Lay out your arguments

This is the 4th essay section. It's your crunch. Here is where you lay out your

opinion and point of view. A good idea is to do the research first, then write

the crunch and only then go backwards and write objections, contradicting

opinions and facts.

All in all this section, which includes (arguments, exploring, challenges and

evidence) should be the longest one in the essay. Certainly, if you wish to

know how to write an argumentative essay, you need to find lots of arguments

to support your idea and lay them out.

6. Explore

Now, once you get all the facts, you need to sort them out. First, get rid of

those you are NOT going to use in the essay. In learning how to write an

essay this could be of great use to you. You narrow down your scope of

information and focus on the key facts.

While exploring the topic, you may find some key personalities or events

connected to it. You may use them in your essay in the place of a quotation.

The rule here is to keep it short. Do not go into too much detail.

7. Challenge

There are many contradictory topics, where large groups of people disagree

about things. These represent the challenges. State some of them (the ones

most tightly related to your essay subject). Describe them not going onto

much detail and move on to the…

essay 10 steps for writer

8. Evidence

You need valid evidence to prove your judgment on the subject. It could be a

historical one or a scientific one. You could also use philosophical or Biblical

evidence to back you up. Make sure to provide all the references and sources

to make it more credible.

9. Explain

Use a quotation. Pick just one and the best one you have. Do not fall into a

temptation to use all the good quotes you know on the subject. Use the

quotation properly. Here is what it means: first set up the scene for a

quotation. Tell people why this quote is the most fitting for your essay and

your point of view.

Then write down the quotation and make sure to credit it to the right source

(sometimes people make mistakes and put wrong names with quotes). Finally,

explain the quotation. Some quotes can be multi-faceted. They are so rich in

meaning. Focus. Do not get distracted. You need only the meaning that

supports your idea. So, uncover and highlight it.

10. Make implementations and summaries

This could be the shortest section of your essay. Highlight the main thoughts

of the crunch. Briefly summarize your 4th section of the essay. Do not

attempt to go over the entire essay in your summaries section. Keep it short

and to

General essay recommendations

The best advice on how to write an essay is to keep it short. You can

bring it all

down to 1-2 pages of text. Try to structure your text well and avoid using long-

long and thick paragraphs of text. It would make your essay more

comprehensible. These steps would help you to use your time efficiently and

produce a great essay.

See What JAMB adopts for 2016 admission

*JAMB adopts point system option for 2016 admissions*.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced the release

of its guidelines for the 2016 admissions' process.

The method, described as the point system option, was adopted after an

extensive one-week meeting JAMB had with universities and other

tertiary institutions' administrators in the country.

According to the guidelines contained in a statement placed on its

website on Monday night, JAMB said that the modalities were going to

be based on point system.

While explaining how the admission process would work for Unified

Tertiary Matriculation Examination candidates and direct entry

students, the organisation stated that universities were going to

charge fees for screening of candidates at the end of the process for

admission.

According to JAMB, the new method uses a point system to offer

provisional admission to candidates.

"Before a candidate can be considered for screening, he/she must have

been offered a provisional admission by JAMB. The JAMB admission

checker portal is going to be opened soon for this process, so praying

is all you can do now," JAMB said.

The second process, it said, was the point system where admission

would depend on the point tally of the candidate.

The statement said, "JAMB's provisional admission no longer makes much

sense this year, your points tally will decide your faith. The points

are evenly spread out between your O' Level and JAMB results to

provide a level-playing field for all.

"In the first case, any candidate who submits only one result which

contains his/her relevant subjects already has 10 points. The exam

could be NECO, WASSCE, November/December WASSCE etc, but any candidate

who has two sittings only gets 2 points. So this means that candidates

with only one result are at an advantage but only just."

The organisation added that the "next point grades fell into the O'

Level grades where each grade would have it equivalent point; A=6

marks, B=4 marks, C=3 marks, so the better the candidates' grades, the

better his or her chances of securing admission this year.

"The next point is the UTME scores where each score range has its

equivalent point which can be summarised thus, 180-200=20-23 marks,

200-250=24-33 points, 251-300=34-43, 300-400=44-60 points," JAMB

explained.

Giving a breakdown, JAMB explained that each category would contain

five JAMB results per point added.

For example a candidate with 180-185 gets 20 points, while a candidate

with 186-190 gets 21 points.

JAMB added that the point system for direct entry would be released soon.

JAMB stated that fees would still be charged for screening which would

replace the Post UTME test.

JAMB also emphasised that catchment and educationally less-developed

state would still be used for admission into the nation's tertiary

institutions.

JAMB said, "Merit contains 45 per cent of the total candidates for a

particular course, Catchment contains 35 per cent and ELDS and staff

lists contains the rest. Cut off marks will be released by the

institutions this year in the form of points and not marks.

"If a school declares its cut off mark for Medicine as 90 points and

JAMB grants a candidate with 250 a provisional admission but his/her

total points falls short of the 90 points, then he/she will lose the

admission. So the provisional admission is just a means to an end, not

the end in itself."

Sexual harassment at various places of work is no longer

news as we have heard of several cases were either the

male or female worker must have been sexually harassed

either by their boss or a colleague in the office.

It is also known that women usually experience such sexual

harassment and advances more than the men.

numerous victims of sexual harassment at their place of

work and don't know what to do to resolve the issue.

person to feel intimidated, hurt or disgruntled. Sexual

harassment is very harmful as it makes the victim to be

unable to carry out his or her duties effectively.

(either verbally or physically) through unwarranted

kissing/ touching, sexual demands, lewd and vulgar

interaction, sexual assault etc.

So what can be done when sexually harassed at work?

Well, we shall discuss in this article some few steps to take

in other to empower you on how to deal with any form of

sexual harassment.

Talk to the person about your displeasure:

Immediately you sense any sexual inconvenience while

carrying out your official duty with either your colleague

or boss, it is best you inform such person to stop

immediately. Let your harasser know that you feel

uncomfortable with their advances or behavior and if he or

she continues to harass you, threaten to file a report

either to the HR department or any legal body. Also ensure

that you keep your distance and avoid being alone with

such an individual.

Remember, when you keep quiet, your harasser believes

that you have approved their sexual desires and therefore

sees it as an opportunity to continue to carry out his/her

sexual advances.

Have proof or an evidence:

After telling your harasser about your displeasure of his

behavior towards you and yet still makes sexual advances,

then it is sensible that you collect enough evidence to back

you up when you finally report him/her. Ensure that you

get substantial details like the date/time the harassment

occurred, comments, remarks etc. It is even better if you

get the incidence either on audio recording or video

recordings.

There are numerous spy audio wristwatches, video glasses

or voice recording devices that you can use to his

comments or video his sexual advances.

Find and interact with other victims:

Finding other victims that were sexually harassed by the

same individual will go a long way when you give your

report as they will stand as a witness to your claim. Also,

other victims who had past experience can guide you and

put you through the process they use in filing a complaint

towards their harasser in the past.

Inform the HR Management:

When the issue is getting out of hand especially as the

harasser did not stop his sexual harassment towards you,

it is advisable to quickly contact the Human Resources

Management in your company. The function of the human

resources management in this situation is to inform, guide

and give you expert knowledge on the necessary steps and

actions needed to be taken as regard the sexual

harassment being experienced.

Please endeavor to present all necessary documents and

evidence when filing your complaints to the HR department

while keeping an extra copy for yourself.

Take the issue to court and file a law suit:

Should you desire to seek a legal resolution to the sexual

harassment, it is advisable that you get a lawyer that is

sound in sexual harassment related cases. You can decide

to take the issue of sexual harassment to court and file a

lawsuit. You can file a lawsuit should in case your

employer or boss fired you because of the event or should

you wish to seek financial damages.

Overall, resigning from your place of work should be the
